It’s now been a little over two weeks since the second SharePoint Saturday Oslo was held May 31st, 2014. And I have to say it was a blast! Everyone I talked to said they had a good time and that they enjoyed the event. I also want to thank the sponsors for making this possible, in particular K2, Metalogix and Steria. Couldn’t have done it without you!
The event started out on Friday with speakers dinner at the fashionably restaurant Bølgen & Moi @Tjuvholmen, and was good times indeed.

As for the event itself we hosted it at Felix Conference Center @Aker Brygge, a pretty good venue. We sported three tracks where two of them were in what used to be movie theatre rooms, and the last in a classroom. The catering worked out well as well as just long enough breaks. In total we had 18 sessions, divided on those three tracks.
The only thing which could have been improved would have been to choose another date which wasn’t connected with a public holiday or excellent sunny weather. But taken that into account, we can’t really complain.
Inspired by SPS Stockholm’s ipad voting system, we decided to do something similar. Except we went really low-tech.
Each room had a stack of small post-it’s in colors green, yellow and orange, and attendees was asked to stick one on the well when they left. Really easy to implement and instant feedback for the speaker to look at the well when they left. Total cost around €7.
The only snag to talk about was that one of our speakers had to cancel due to a family emergency, so I stepped in and did my “Rock your SharePoint Search With 13 Easy Tune-Ups” session, which resonated well, again. And saves me from doing it at a user group meeting :-)
